I dedicated an
entire post to Noé about a year ago, but I thought I'd write a little more about him for new readers and for those who are fans of my big
bébé, as well as post some new pics. So here we go:
Name: Noé (pronounced "No-ay"), but his nickname is "No-No". Have a look back at
this post to find out how we came up with his name and see some cute baby pics!
Age: 7 years old (he was born December 22
nd, 2006)
Likes: sleeping, hanging out on the balcony, getting brushed, leaving a fine coating of his fur on every available surface, sitting and staring into his water bowl (and dipping his paws in it), chewing on plastic packaging, rubbing up against people's feet
Dislikes: being awake, exercise (despite my best attempts to get him moving), going in the car, getting wet, when I run the vacuum cleaner, being left alone
Friends: Noé is very solitary compared to my other pets, but he used to be quite close with Pinch. As they grew up, they grew apart, and now have somewhat of an estranged, yet civil, relationship. But there's no doubt that Noé's favourite human is Max!
Noé is a wonderful pet who is lazy and affectionate. He's definitely overweight, but since he's a neutered inside cat, I'm not sure what I can do to encourage him to lose some weight. He lives with 2 sphynx cats who have very high metabolisms and need to eat constantly, so taking away the food dish or limiting the amount of kibble are not options since they all share the same dish. I actually got crazy energetic Skinny Mini in the hopes that she and Noé would play together and he'd become more active. He barely noticed when she joined our family, though, and certainly hasn't lost any kilos as a result! The vet assures me he is in good health despite the extra weight, but I still worry about his life expectancy. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to help an overweight cat lose a little in the middle?
And photos from this morning's shoot! (I took advantage of the 20-minute window that's he awake each day):

| Big beautiful bébé |
 |
| He has the softest fur of any cat I've ever touched. I never met his mom, but I'm convinced she must have been a chinchilla or a cashmere sweater. |
 |
| He'd be a great choice to play a real life Garfield (and Pinch could be Odie!) |
 |
| His fangs hang out way past his lips sabre-tooth tiger style. Is that normal? My sphynx cats don't have this and neither do my mom's 5 cats... |
 |
| (I straightened that wall decoration just after taking this shot) |
 |
| So fat, but so adorable |
 |
| "Give me a blank stare" |
 |
| He has the tiniest, daintiest paws considering his massive girth. He also has a small, high-pitched voice that doesn't sound right coming out of such a big guy! |
And a little look back at the beginning:
 |
| Looking young and svelte |

| Sitting pretty in our old house in the north of France |

What an absolute cutie. I love those little saber tooth fangs! My cats didn't have that either.
I have no tips on how to get an overweight cat fit - unless you can tempt him with string.
I loved this post! I actually think the extra weight gives him character.
Do all the bébés snuggle with Max?
And why do you think Pinch and Noé are no longer close?
I love the picture of you holding up Noé as a kitten.
Noe is my favorite bebe. I am a huge cat person. I have my own huge pile of fuzz. I assume Pinch would try and eat me. And I have a confession I have never got up the courage to tell you until now, I find hairless cats creepy. I hope you aren't offended.
Like Noe my large kitteh has a tiny little meow. It's so cute coming out of something that's 14 lbs. Sorry I am american we don't use those fake communist metric things :)
Noe is soo cute!! All big and fuzzy and a bit chubby...I'm afraid the only way to get him to lose some weight is to get him outside and playing, climbing trees, etc. but I don't think he cares for this much so he'll just remain and adorable chunk :)
I love the way to write about all your bebes, puts a big smile on my face! :)

Deidre - I've tried buying all kinds of toys over the years, but he's not into anything. He can run super fast though, but will only do it in short bursts (usually when I open the balcony door).
Den Nation - All the bébés love Max, but they don't snuggle as much now as they did when they were all babies. The sphynx cats love to sit on his lap though. I have an article coming up on Dogster that talks more about Noé & Pinch, so keep an eye out for it to answer your other question :)
Wonky - Well, I prefer people to say they look "interesting" or "unique", but I won't be mad if you say creepy. They really are amazing, affectionate pets though with the softest, warmest skin! And Noé tips the scale at just over 10 kilos, which I'm pretty sure is over 2O pounds??
Iza - Well Noé is destined to always be an indoor cat, so there's no tree climbing in his future unfortunately. As long as he's healthy, I guess he'll stay chunky!
I love cats and Noé is just adorable. Love the pic of Max sleeping with him and the puppy when they were younger.
I love cats and Noe is such a handsome guy. His fur looks so soft and silky!
